Donald Trump asked his supporters on Thursday if he should “try for a fourth term” amid the worst approval rating polls of his presidency.
“Record numbers all over the place! Should I try for a fourth term?” Trump asked on Truth Social. The president appears to be including the 2020 election, which he lost, as his third term, which would make a 2028 election win his fourth. However, all U.S. presidents are limited to two terms by the 22nd Amendment.
Trump has repeatedly teased a potential third term, telling NBC News last year that he was “not joking” about running again, and even selling Trump 2028 merch through his official stores.
